House Of Love Review
"House of Love" was the
first Amy Grant CD that I purchased, and although I love "Heart
in Motion," it remains one of my favorites. The songs
on this CD are very similar to Grant's "new" style
that she introduced in "Heart in Motion," but I
feel that these songs are more inspirational. Songs like "The
Power" and "Children of the World" are moving,
passionate ballads that showcase Grant's strong spirituality.
Similarly, "Oh How the Years Go By" and "Big
Yellow Taxi" are both truisms in the sense that they
perfectly capture the human worldview towards change. "Oh
How the Years Go By" talks about positive change between
people as time progresses, and "Big Yellow Taxi" expresses
negative change as shown through the classic line "don't
it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got
`till it's gone." And besides these four songs, each
song on the CD is emotional and performed in Amy Grant's
signature pop style from her earlier CDs. I highly recommend "House
of Love" to Amy Grant fans that liked "Heart in
Motion." Likewise, I also recommend "Heart in Motion" to "House
of Love" fans. I feel that both albums are timeless
collections of Amy Grant's best music.
