Andy Hunter Continues Mainstream Partnerships

One of the best-selling DJs in the world, Andy Hunter was recently called upon to perform at Midem’s opening night “Experience More Microsoft” party in Cannes, France. Hosted by Microsoft, the party featured Hunter playing for a host of music and technology industry figureheads. The opening night event also presented Microsoft’s high hopes for the music business and offered opportunities for attendees to get involved.

“Midem was an amazing event to kick the year of with,” says Hunter, “Not only did I share the stage with a legend, DJ Louie Vega, but I met a lot of influential people in the music industry.”

Midem is an international music conference designed to attract independent and major record companies, music publishers, online and traditional distributors, A&R executives, agents, producers, promoters, festival programmers, manufacturers, service companies, retailers, attorneys, rights organizations and several others. This year thousands of musical professionals, representing just about every single music genre, and media from 37 countries attended for five days of networking, market information, live music and parties. More information can be found at www.midem.com.

Becoming a regular at Microsoft’s events, Hunter was also featured at the “Digital Entertainment Anywhere” launch event hosted by Microsoft Corp. Chairman and Chief Software Architect, Bill Gates, in Los Angeles, last October. Hunter set the tone for the event as his hit song, "Go," in Surround 5.1, was featured in the opening video presentation followed by Gates’s public unveiling of Microsoft’s Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005. Hunter then entertained VIP guests that attended the after party at the IVAR Club in Hollywood for six hours, performing his remixes of “Go,” “Amazing” and other favorites.

“It was an incredible opportunity for me to play for an event of this size and to rock the dance floor,” said Hunter. “I am blown away by the support that people at Microsoft have for me and my music.”

The “Digital Entertainment Anywhere” launch presentation, including Hunter’s “Go,” can be seen at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/wmx/billg_digitalenter.asx.

Hunter’s upcoming release, Life, a six-track EP will be available May 26.
