Casting Crowns New Single "Lifesong" Debuts As Most Added Across All Radio Formats

Christian radio's mega-hit producing band Casting Crowns lands an impressive first week with its new single "Lifesong" earning the ‘most added' banner across all formats on both R&R and CRW charts. The single currently sits at No. 15 on R&R's AC Monitored chart, No. 11 on its Indicator chart and debuts at No. 18 on Billboard's Hot Christian Adult Contemporary chart. In addition, the combined charting on the CRW formats already has the hit-bound song reaching more than 5.5 million in audience impressions.

Written by Songwriter of the Year and lead singer Mark Hall, "Lifesong" is the title track off the band's anticipated sophomore album releasing Aug. 30.

Dwayne Harrison, program director for New Life, WRCM in Charlotte, North Carolina, says of his decision to immediately add "Lifesong" to the station's rotation, "It's quite possibly the easiest decision I've made all year. Our listeners can't get enough of Casting Crowns."

"Based on the overwhelming success of the debut record, programmers were anxiously awaiting new music from Casting Crowns," says Andrew Patton, vp of national promotions for Provident Label Group. "There hasn't been a stronger offering of songs to connect radio with their listeners than those from Casting Crowns, and the new album Lifesong will continue radio's devotion to this artist."

With their self-titled debut album having reached RIAA Platinum status (for sales of one million copies), and the platinum certification of their Live From Atlanta DVD release, Casting Crowns continues to notch up remarkable achievements. The project's first three radio singles, "If We Are The Body," "Who Am I," and "Voice of Truth," all spent multiple weeks atop numerous charts, including a record-breaking 13 weeks at number one for their hit, "Voice of Truth" on R&R's Christian AC Monitored chart. For the year 2004, Casting Crowns was the most played artist on Christian radio.
