On the Road to Beautiful Review

I am always on the prowl for worship music that moves me and this CD does just that. In fact, I have been moved to tears while driving to work listening to this CD. The only other music that seems to usher in His presence for me in this way has been some of the earlier Hillsong CDs.
I'll admit that I am way too critical about music and find that most of the p&w coming out today is so bland, unoriginal, and contain corny or awkward lyrics. This CD, on the other hand, just seems so sincere, so heart-felt. I really enjoy the bold and prophetic nature of some of Charlie's songs such as The Rising Shout, which reminds me of King of Glory and Holy Visitation off of his other CD.

What is bizarre is that I actually disliked this CD when I first got it. Two listens later and I couldn't stop listening.

Finally, I enjoy playing his songs as well. I played "The Rising Shout" at church yesterday and it went over very well. I guess different music affects different people but my wife confirmed the connection when she said, "You should play more Charlie Hall songs, they fit you so well." That's all I needed to hear.
