downhere Review
I first saw Down Here as an opening act for
a Sonic Flood concert. I couldn't believe my ears, hearing
this amazing music. They have a good strong sound in their
instruments, and great voices to match. The lyrics amaze
me; The meanings can be simple topics you'd agree with at
one point, but over time, those same songs may end up reaching
you on a deeper level according to what's happening in your
life. This album is very powerful.
The band consists of Marc Martel (Lead Vocals, Background
Vocals, Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Marmonica, Dobro),
Jason Germain (Lead Vocals, Background Vocals, Piano, Keyboards,
B3, Acoustic Guitars), Jeremy Theissen (Drums & Percussion),
and Glenn Lavender (Bass Guitar). My youth group met them
all after that Sonic Flood concert, and they are really great,
fun guys. This album is an awesome start for them, ranging
from upbeat songs ("Larger than Life", "Makimg
Me"), to soft beautiful ones ("Great Are You" Though
the lyrics inside the cover list it as "Great You Are," I
suppose there was just some confusion.) And be sure not to
stop your stereo after track 11, because you'll get a nice
surprise approximately 3 minutes into the following one.
You can visit their official site at [website] to get more
information about the members or their music career in general.
These are definitely some good-hearted, talented guys with
a great future in store. It's always moving to see people
using their gifts for God, and I congratulate them for their
great success in doing so.
