Ginny Owens Books 40+ Fall 2005 Tour Dates
Rocketown recording artist Ginny Owens plans
to launch her Oct. 11 studio release, Long Way Home, with
a packed Fall schedule of tour dates, benefit concerts and
promotional appearances. Long known as the hardest working
woman in Christian music, Owens is balancing her time between
radio and retail visits, listen-first concerts to debut her
new CD, and her ongoing work with Habitat for Humanity via
her non-profit organization, Fingerprint Initiative.
Rocketown Records President Don Donahue
said, “’The
Today Show’ has ‘Where in the world is Matt Lauer?’ At
Rocketown Records, our staff has our very own version of
that theme. We call it, ‘Where in the world is Ginny
Owens!’ I don't know I've ever been around an artist
with Ginny’s drive and determination. It truly is a
gift for a label to have an artist who doesn't seem to know
the meaning of the word, 'no.’ If you are in the United
States between now and the end of the year, there’s
a pretty great chance that you'll be within 25 miles of a
Ginny Owens tour stop.”
Owens’ extraordinary fourth quarter is driven by her
desire to serve her neighbor, wherever they may be. In partnership
with Fingerprint Initiative, Owens’ Long Way Home Street
Week (Oct. 8-12) was originally slated to culminate with
the build of a Habitat for Humanity house in New Orleans
for a family in which both parents are disabled. The devastation
of Hurricane Katrina temporarily put those plans on hold
as Habitat re-evaluates needs in the area. Owens, who grew
up two hours north of New Orleans and who released Live from
New Orleans (CD and DVD) earlier this year, is working with
Habitat on a daily basis to establish a new plan for the
area and the home she is sponsoring. Look for more news in
the coming days as new plans are announced.
