Joy Williams to Release New Album Genesis May 3
Reunion Records artist
Joy Williams, Christian recording artist, is set to release
her third, and a much anticipated album, from producer
Matt Bronleewe on Reunion Records. Titled Genesis, Williams
has co-written most of this album, taking time off from
writing and recording to wed husband Nate Yetton, last
summer. Produced by Matt Bronleewe (Natalie Imbruglia,
Michael W. Smith) the album is slated for a May 3 release
with a radio single out in March. As
this young artist, now 22, has been growing up in front of
her audience, a slew of new beginnings inspired lyrical content
and album title Genesis.
"This album really highlights the up and down seasons
of life," Joy Williams said. "It’s the journey
of self-discovery, new beginnings, falling in love; my fingerprints
are all over it. I really feel like I’m making my first
album."
"This album displays a truly gifted artist rising above
the noise of a cluttered musical scene," said producer
Matt Bronleewe. "With Genesis, Joy has found herself,
and in doing so she has discovered a voice for the next generation.
I can’t wait for people to hear this record!"
Bronleewe (Rebecca St. James, Michael
W. Smith, Natalie Imbruglia) added programmed elements
with acoustic guitar and piano to achieve a timely sound
to compliment Williams’ lyrics.
An extra bonus is the added sound of stringed instruments
which were recorded in Prague.
"This is a really exciting direction for Joy," said
Jason McArthur, A&R director Provident Label Group. "Not
only did she co-write every song, but working with Matt Bronleewe
really opened up new creative avenues for her. The result
is an incredibly unique album with a very fresh, pop sound."
Williams began a new part of her life
recently as she married fiancé Nate Yetton on June 12, 2004. A year earlier,
she signed exclusively with new management Blanton Harrell
Cooke & Corzine (Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant). She is
also newly represented by the booking mogul William Morris
Agency.
Joy Williams launched her career as
a songwriter and vocalist at 17. Her albums released to
date include 2001’s Joy
Williams and 2002’s By Surprise which included the
No. 1 single "Every Moment." In 2002 she was voted "Best
New Artist" in CCM Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards.
