influence on youth culture and how Jesus is the only healing
source for the pain he's experienced as a child and an adult,
is getting the attention of a lot of people lately, including
Eminem himself. The rapper actually received a copy of KJ-52's
release backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards when David
Soesbee, road pastor to various artists, ran into Mr. Mathers,
told him about the song and handed him a copy. The video
'Dear Slim' is popping up everywhere these days as well.
TVU premiered it recently on their 'Ten Most Wanted' show
and this past Friday, KJ-52 hosted Urban Alternet's 'Request
10' where he introduced his video and discussed the album.
Since the release of his album, KJ-52 has continued to build
momentum with Collaborations, which has received critical
acclaim from many. He's currently on tour with Grits and
Justified as well as promoting his album by visiting various
media, retail and radio outlets. The rhythms and rhymes of
KJ-52 can also be found on a several other CCM projects including:
ZOEGirl's new Remix album, 'Mix of Life' on their #1 song
'With All of My Heart,' True Vibe's latest project and The
Simply Groovy CD Sampler with other notable artists like
Toby Mac, Pillar and more. 'As a former inner-city youth
pastor, KJ-52 has seen firsthand what kids these days encounter,
and purposes to provide relevant music that fills them with
the things of God,' explains Brandon Ebel, President of Tooth
and Nail Records. 'KJ-52 brings a wealth of talent to our
industry, and more importantly, a heart for kids.'
