Soul Review
Margaret Becker's earliest album here is
probably her best. As another reviewer said, it is foundational
to understanding her later works. She pours her heart out
to God in song after song with some of the most beautiful
vocals I've ever heard. Even more striking are the honest
and sincere lyrics which she wrote as a testimony of her
own life struggles as a Christian.
Maggie B is without a doubt one of adult, contemporary Christian
music's top 3 female vocalists and I believe this album is
her all time best. Her newer sounds tend to be more geared
towards mainstream pop and loses some of the awesome, inspiring
vocals found throughout 'Soul.' If you're a fan of angelic
female vocalists, such as those found in Mariah Carey, Annie
Lenox, and Jessic Simpson (in their earlier years...), this
album should appeal to you.
