Word Takes Over Squint

2001-08-09 - It's a very sad day for Squint - all marketing and promotional efforts for their acts Sixpence None the Richer, PFR, Waterdeep, L.A. Symphony and the upcoming Squint Christmas project are now being handled by the Word Records staff. With no word from Squint themselves, and Word executives calling the move an administration change, the fact is that the entire Squint staff was laid off with the exception of Squint president Steve Taylor. This news comes after expecting Squint to complete a deal with Big Idea Productions (VeggieTales) that would put them on their own financial feet. As for the 'new' Sixpence album, which has been delayed for well over a year, there is no news on when it will be released. Let's pray for all of the Squint staff who were laid off, and for the Squint artists who must be feeling very frustrated.
