Colman Trio : Review
One Review
Australian Christian rockers, the Paul Colman
Trio made a big splash in 2002 with their international debut "A
New Map Of The World". Now, Paul and friends are back
with their second album entitled "One".
"One" displays an edgier sound than its predecessor
and also shows the band maturing as a tight musical unit.
Paul Colman's songwriting is definitely in full bloom here
complete with catchy hooks and openly honest lyrics.
The opening track "I'll Be With You" is a upbeat
number with lyrics of comfort and hope. Other standout tracks
include the thumping rocker "Solution", the Dave
Matthews-like "Birthday Song", the experimental "Who
Do You Say?", "Live It!" which has a touch
of Steven Curtis Chapman's style thrown in and the John Mayer-esque
title track.
The Paul Colman Trio has shown considerable growth musically
and lyrically since the release of their debut. "One" definitely
shows the band coming into their own. Chances are the album
after this one will be an improvement as well. Check "One" out.
You won't be disappointed.
