Ja'Marc Davis (Raze) Pleaded Guilty
2001-11-28 - After eight months following
his arrest on March 1, Ja’Marc Davis, 26, founder and
leader of Forefront Records dance band Raze, pleaded guilty
to sex offences involving a girl who was one of the group’s
back up dancers. The Tulsa World reported that Tulsa County
District Attorney Tim Harris recommended a 10 year sentence
as part of the plea negotiation. Tulsa World reported that
the judge in the case ordered that a background report be
prepared “to evaluate Davis’ merits as a probation
candidate.” Judge Jefferson Sellers told Davis that
there was no “guarantee of probation.” Davis
was arrested on 10 felony counts in spring 2001, seven of
which have been dismissed. He remains free on bail and is
scheduled to be sentenced in December.
