Transform Review
Rebecca St James has done it again! Even
though “Transform” was released nearly four years
ago (Fall 2000) it’s sound is still modern and its
lyrics captivate you! Exploding with her trademark edgy rock
and its chimey pop tinge Rebecca delivers all 13 songs in
an upbeat fashion. The first track with lyrics (song one
is a beautiful yet brief instrumental introduction) “For
The Love of God” is just bursting with modern rock
flavor that carries over to the unique hit-song “Reborn” that
is in a class of it’s own. The sunny song “Don’t
Worry” has a great message of leaving things up to
God and very enjoyable light pop sound. A couple other great
songs lead to the highlight of the album the infamous hit-song “Wait
For Me”. This song of purity and devotion would be
reason enough to buy the album! Expressing the desire and
commitment to remain pure for her future spouse, Rebecca
found “the” song to capture the hearts of worldwide
audiences. As a result of this song it easily said that hundreds
of thousands have committed to remain to abstinent and wait
for their own future spouses! It's followed up with a great
acoustic track (similar to what you find on “Pray” another
St James album) “In Me”. A few tracks lead up
to “Stand” a passionate song that calls worldwide
believers to make a stand for God with “reckless abandon”.
Then the closer “My Hope” has a beat slower than
the other tracks yet brimming with, simply, hope and yet
it goes deeper. Though every song may not be chart-topper
material this certainly is an album worthy of attention,
I highly recommend this CD and can say without a doubt it
is one of my personal favorites. It is a great album as a
foundation for your new christian music collection or an
amazing edition to your "stash". Enjoy and check
