All I Have Review
It's a powerful combination: something familiar,
something new. Veteran worship leader Rita Springer (Vineyard
Music) recently signed with the newly formed FloodGate Records
to release her fourth worship album, All I Have. Producer
Andy Piercy (Matt Redman, Kim Hill, Delerious) features 11
songs (nine penned by the artist) that blend power chords
and tender ballads into artful offerings of celebration and
intimacy.
Rockers "You Said" and "Oh How You Love Me" initiate
new listeners to Springer's distinctive throaty vocals while
intimating a passion andenergy long time fams will recall
from her powerhouse recording of "Make Us a Prayer".
Conversely, standouts "All My Days" and "Created
to Worship" present a delicate interplay between strings,
keys and vocals that work nicely in balancing the mix and
the emotion of the overall project. Look for "Oh How
You Love Me" to be a single contender with its driving
guitar and vocal hooks-it's sure to please both congregations
and radio audiences alike with its infectious sing-ability.
Rounding out the set, Springer's lyric
writing depth is best seen in "Phenomenon" with its opening verse: "I
am not here just to see a phenomenon/I am not here for experiential
bliss/I simply come to the feet of the God I serve/The One
that I love."
Leave it to Springer to be able to be able to wrap her heart,
as well as her chops, around a lyric like this to squeeze
out 100 percent passion and depth. All I Have is all you
need if you're looking for your next great worship album.
