Picking Up The Pieces Review
I saw these guys live last summer having
never heard any of their music. I was expecting to be mildly
impressed and walked away blown away.
Seventh Day Slumber's message touched me in a way not many
other bands have. When I got "Picking up the Pieces" I
was just as equally blown away. With their earnestly honest
songwriting, there's a reason this band has such a large
underground following. The entire band is exteremly talented,
but the strength in the band lies in the deep lyrics that
all of us who are frustrated in life can related to.
Seventh Day Slumber's melodic hard rock sounds alot like
the best parts of Staind, but also sounds similar to bands
like Three Doors Down or Lifehouse (harder rocking tho).
The lyrics touch on the tough parts of life, such as suicide,
depression, feeling like a nobody, addiction to sin. While
addressing life's sufferings, the songs also point to the
hope that can be found only in Christ. Truly an amazing collection
of songs that belong in everyone's collection. Anyone who
feels frustrated and needs some hope should do themselves
a huge favor and pick this one up. I'd have to say you'd
be really missing out...
