Smalltown Poets Review

Former members of a band called Villanelle came together to form Smalltown Poets, a real down to earth, folksy accoustic rock kind of group. This release in particular draws a lot of parallels with Jars of Clay's self-titled debut and Seven Day Jesus' self-titled debut. With a wide variety from softer ballad-like rock ("I'll Give") to hard hitters like "Monkey's Paw," you can't go wrong with Smalltown Poet's debut. "Prophet, Priest, and King" has to be one of the all-time greats in Christian rock.
