Nashville Holds Evening
Vigil
2001-09-13 - The city of Nashville held a
memorial vigil last night supporting the survivors of the
attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, mourning
the people lost with the symbolic lighting of memorial candles.
The ceremony was open to the public and was held at Centennial
Park Main Lawn. RCA Recording Artist Martina McBride sang
The National Anthem, and Dr. Warren Thompson, Director of
Clinical Psychology for Metro Schools spoke on how to tell
children about this tragedy. Gotee recording artists The
Katinas, along with Leigh Nash from Sixpence None The Richer,
Michael W. Smith, and others, led the gathering in the singing
of 'Amazing Grace.'
