Tree63 To Release Worship Album on Nov. 22
Rising to prominence
last year with the smash hit, “Blessed Be Your Name,” South
African band Tree63 is poised for even greater success
with its innovative November 22nd release, Worship Volume
One: I Stand For You.
Worship Volume One: I Stand For You
functions as a snapshot of Tree63’s live worship experience while also showcasing
Tree63’s strong studio prowess. The album is comprised
of 12 tracks, and it is a scrapbook, of sorts, with four
live tracks, five new studio cuts, and fresh arrangements
of fan favorites. Tree63 serves up its unique, international
blend of modern pop/rock on Worship Volume One: I Stand For
You. The highly anticipated follow up to Tree63's 2004 album,
The Answer To The Question, is crafted with a core of vertical
worship songs, including Tree63 frontman John Ellis’ ASCAP
award-winning tune “King.” Worship Volume One:
I Stand For You also features originals from established
songwriters Matt Redman and Martin Smith (Delirious?). The
first single from the album, “I Stand For You,” is
currently one of the most added at radio, according to Radio & Records
and Christian Radio Weekly.
“Our goal was to capture some the praise and worship
moments we’ve experienced as a band this year in our
live shows,” says Ellis. “This album is different
than the usual Tree63 record, but I am excited at the potential.
Our vision is to offer something fresh to the jaded, over-exposed
and hurting culture. More than anything, we want to be part
of God's plan,” he concludes.
After years of participating in both
secular and church events all over the world, Tree63 has
recently moved toward more worship-oriented events throughout
the United States. The band was part of the final Billy
Graham Crusade in New York City earlier this year. Tree63’s
passion for worship is evidenced on its November 22nd release,
and the disc is set to be the first installment in a planned
series of worship records.
Hailing from South Africa, Tree63 first
appeared in the United States in 1999 with its Dove Award-winning,
self-titled debut for Inpop Records. The project earned
a string of international No.1 singles. “Blessed Be Your Name,” the first
single from Tree63’s February 2004 release, The Answer
To The Question, garnered top honors as Billboard Magazine’s
No. 1 Adult Contemporary Christian radio single in 2004.
Earlier this year, the band headlined the World Vision-sponsored “All
God’s Children” tour and recently concluded the “Restored” tour
with Jeremy Camp and Bethany Dillon.
