Watermark: A Grateful People
Rocketown recording
artists Nathan & Christy
Nockels will culminate their recording career as Watermark
next year with the March 14 release of A Grateful People
and a supporting 18-city, Spring 2006 tour. Recorded live
at the couple's home church, Fellowship Bible in Franklin,
Tenn., the night of worship features special guests and Nockels'
friends Chris Tomlin, Point of Grace, Charlie Hall, Shane & Shane
and Ed Cash.
Watermark's Christy Nockels said, "Nathan and I have
loved every part of the Watermark journey... writing, recording,
producing, leading worship, concerts, interviews, everything.
However, this past year God has made it very clear that we
can't do it all. We want to be available to God and really
just in a place of asking Him what is next. God is clearly
calling us to close the Watermark chapter of our lives… With
A Grateful People, we want to celebrate all that God has
allowed us to accomplish through Watermark.
Undoubtedly, the most cherished pieces
of our journey are the people, and the rich community we've
found on our path inspired the making of this new CD." Rocketown Records
founder and Chairman Michael W. Smith said, "Christy
Nockels creates space for worship like few artists I've been
around. When she sings, it's disarming-you must pay attention.
Whether it's 10,000 people at a Passion conference or an
intimate gathering, Christy is a worshipper who leads us
all.
Nathan and Christy are a huge part
of the Rocketown Records' story, and my life has been enriched
by their love for worship music." Rocketown Records President Don Donahue added, "Without
question, Nathan and Christy Nockels are two of the most
talented people in the Christian music community. Our label
family has been blessed to be a part of the Watermark journey
and to introduce so many fans to the Nockels' songs. While
we're sad to see this season come to an end, we look forward
to see what God does next in their lives, and we're thrilled
to offer A Grateful People as a final, outstanding retrospective."
The 65-minute CD features new concert
recordings of a dozen of the best songs from the couple's
decade of writing and recording together, including "Arise and Be Comforted" and "A
Grateful People" from Watermark's independent days.
In addition to the 12 live tracks, A Grateful People also
includes two new studio songs: "Light of the World," the
first radio single (going for adds at AC and Inspo stations
Jan. 20) and "Elliana's Song," a tender mother/daughter
tribute written for the couple's three-year-old daughter.
Dates and cities for the 18-city Spring 2006 farewell tour
will be announced soon.
